I wish there was a playground for adults. I’m not sure how it happens but adults can act like the world is on fire. Ok, sometimes it is but 90% of the time it’s not. Need to discover your inner scientific child?
There’s a site where you can play the scientific research game. Check it out. http://www.powerofresearch.eu/. Go. Play and Experiment.
Last night the Carbon Monoxide Detector began to chirp. It’s two o’clock in the morning. That early morning alarm is not the most opportune time for the ‘please pay attention to me beep-beep-beep’ conversation to begin. We called the fire department and all of us calmly evacuated the house. The source of the problem was identified.
The repairman is coming out today. Frankly, I’d rather have the repairman come if it means the coroner doesn’t visit my house any time soon.
Information saves lives. If you doubt this then ask the paramedic when he comes to your neighbor’s house. Your neighbor and his family will be grateful to the medic for his knowledge and information.
Information- the right information sustains your company. It breathes life into what would otherwise be a dull conversation. Information solves problems and looks for ways to do so.
As a researcher, I know how important information is. In the past 6 months I presented information to a company that identified new verticals, established best practices and introduced quality assurance programs.
Welcome to the power of information. To learn more about Carbon Monoxide poisoning, read Discovery Health’s article, Carbon Monoxide: The Senseless Killer.

In the 1980s my grandfather built an electric car. He built it out of fiberglass and used 2 car batteries.
One of my ancestors, Edward Winslow was a pilgrim on the Mayflower. He was a governor of Plymouth Colony. He learned the Wampanoag language so he could communicate.
Both of these gentlemen harnessed the power of information.
It’s a giant elephant of a secret that we live in an information age. Advertisers are slowly chipping away at the margins of my facebook page. Twitter is trying to figure out how to monetize the world of the characters. Social media is a giant discussion on how to ‘effect change’.
My grandfather took the tools he had available and produced his own car. Edward Winslow realized that he could communicate better with others if he spoke their language.
Both of these gentlemen used the tools to drive their Definite Chief Aim. Both of them used their knowledge to help others succeed. Both of them knew their resources and how to effectively use them.
If you are a company and you’re only interested in what you can get from your clients, you won’t get anything. If you are interested in solving your client’s problems, they’ll be lining up at your door.
Today is a day of giving thanks. One of my ancestors, Edward Winslow (October 18, 1595 – May 8, 1655) was one of the first Pilgrims (Old Comers and Old Planters) to step foot on what is now these United States (1).
I am sure there isn’t one among us who has some ancestor who has accomplished a great deal. Of course, there is the gentle reminder that a “a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step” (2).
There have been many who arrived on these shores before you. Their hard work, labor and toiling makes life as we know it possible today. Think of your ancestors, do you know their history? Do you know of the sacrifices they made to get to where they are.
Maybe they learned another language. Maybe they made the rough voyage by ship or plane.
While you have your family and friends together, ask them about their histories. How did they get here?
What are their dreams? What can you do to make their dreams happen?
Happy Thanksgiving. Make it count.

We’ve all been there. You’re training yet another sales guy on how to fill out his TPS Reports.
What if there was a way for you to say it once so that this sales guy and the twenty poor sales guys who come after him all get the same information? Let me introduce you to Jing. Jing is an on screen capturing software that is easy to use. I use it to provide instructions to my interns. Plus, I can post it to the client’s YouTube channel. Check out a video walk through of Jing and let me know what you think.
